Meet George
An active, mindfulness-based therapist.
My Therapy Philosophy
A lot of people avoid therapy because they picture lying on a couch while someone nods and asks, "And how does that make you feel?" for years on end.
That is not how I work.
I work with clients who value a direct, action-oriented approach. While having a safe space to process emotions is vital, insight alone rarely changes behavior. Knowing why you are anxious or stuck doesn't automatically fix the problem. You need tools and accountability.
Using Evidence-Based Practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Mindfulness, we will treat therapy like a collaborative project. We will identify the loops you are stuck in, experiment with new behaviors between sessions, and track real data on what is actually working.
My goal is to make myself obsolete. I want to give you the mental framework and coping skills you need so that eventually, you can navigate life's challenges without me.
About Me
Born and raised in Austin, I earned my Master’s in Counselor Education from UT Austin after an initial background in physics, chemistry, and neuroscience at SMU. When I’m not exploring the outdoors through hiking, climbing, running, or training my dog, I maintain a dedicated daily meditation practice and study secular Buddhist philosophy and practices, specifically Vipassana, Metta, the Fetters Model, and TWIM.
